What’s here?
At the Finnish Museum of Photography, you will find photographic art, early history of photography, portraits, snapshots, fashion photographs, photojournalism, and much more. Our collections include more than two million photographs as well as literature, archive material, and a variety of photography-related artefacts. Finna features only a small proportion of the collections, but new material is added on a regular basis.
How can the images be used?
The museum publishes a wide range of material on Finna. Each image comes with information on how it can be used.
The use of works of art is the most limited. They are copyrighted, but the material can be browsed or stored for personal use.
Most material is published under a Creative Commons CC BY license. This means that it can be used freely, also for commercial purposes, as long as you credit the photographer and the museum.
In addition, the museum selects a variety of material relinquished of copyright or related rights for free, unrestricted use under CC0.
