Babirusa Volume 4 is an ongoing experimental publishing and exhibition making project. The site specific installation leans on media archaeological, iconographic and commoning practices to develop para archival structures. The theme for volume 4 will be safety/textures. The exhibition and publication accompanying it generates diverse conversations on the theme along with photographic interventions.
Vinayak (b. 1991) is from Kerala, India, currently based in Helsinki. Through books and exhibitions, he collects, dissects, analyzes, and re-appropriates various tropes associated with the photographic medium.
The exhibition is part of the museum gallery’s 2025-26 program called Textures of Security, which has been curated through an open call by the museum’s curatorial team and invited curator Farbod Fakharzadeh, and supported by Museovirasto.
